Bytom DevCon 2
1. On August 24th, Bytom DevCon 2019 was held successfully in the Fort Mason Cowell Theater. This conference attracted tech enthusiasts from the US, Russia, Belgium, Canada, Zambia, and other countries. Finally Payment platform Paypaw won the first prize of Bytom Dev Competition 2019.
2. Bytom founder & CEO Duan Xinxing gave a speech in the ceremony, from the launch of Bytom mainnet, Bytom expanded “one mainchain with multiple sidechains” architecture to solve the scalability problem. Main chain adopts PoW to ensure security while sidechain adopts DPoS to scale the TPS from 35 to more than 8000.
Bytom will continue to embrace open source and believe in Blockchain and the power of open-source movement. They will help us cross the national border and bring more useful service as well as create more work opportunity to change the world.
3. Bytom Tech VP James gave a speech “ Bystack: the next generation of Blockchain Infrastructure”, Bystack is a BaaS service based on Bystack. Mainchain ensures the asset secure and decentralized, sidechain realized the scalability and the possibility of running applications.
On the conference, James announced the roadmap of the next year. Bystack will open BaaS platform and launch Dev Center and Bystack DID. Bystack will continue to optimize core data layer and network protocol and release BBFT 2.0 and Bytom 1.2.0. Open Federation Management Framework, Dapp Open Framework, and Decentralized Personal Credit will be launched soon.
4. BBFT founder Wang Wei introduced “Why BBFT” in his speech. PBFT can’t scale, all verification in FBFT needs to be verified by Leader. BBFT has the advantages of Configurable, Adaptive, Scalable, Heterogeneous. BBFT also support BLS private key integration and network Parition.
5.Lin Haoyu, the core developer of Bytom, introduced in the speech that the BUTXO model of Bytom, based on UTXO of Bitcoin, naturally supports multiple assets and introduces the Gas mechanism. The assets are created by the Smart contract of issuing assets and can be used in different Smart contracts. Meanwhile, different UTXO cannot communicate with each other. On the spot, Lin Haoyu also introduced Simple Brain Wallet (Simple Brain Wallet), decentralized exchange, custody contract code, and took unlocking the company shares as an example.
6. Payment platform Paypaw won Bytom Dev Competition 2 first prize. Paypaw is a payment platform based on Bytom Vapor sidechain which has QR code payment and bill management features. Dalin said, “At present, we could transmit data in a nearly free way, why can’t we transfer freely? We need a better payment system so we choosed Bytom sidechain to develop such an application.
7. ProofChain is an AI copyright registration and protection platform based on Bytom, users can make projects blockchainized and get copyright certification. Those all could be circulated and traded. In the future, ProofChain will provide investment reward and create a fund-raising platform to incentive the community development.
8. Junlin Gao from Odin Swap Tools said that Bytom architecture is the best choice. PoW+PoS is suitable for balance privacy and data integration. Currently, ODIN is defining an ID for each individual and using the bitcoin blockchain to manage the issuance of ODIN ids. At the same time, the team defined a standard protocol (PTTP) to find out the meta information of ODIN.
9.BytomLit is a payment channel network based on Bytom. In the future, BytomLit will increase parallelism, add routing algorithms and establish payment centers (hubs) based on Vapor sidechain.
Dev Report
Bytom:
1. Optimized the user experience of the asset interaction process, and re-optimized the code structure;
2. Used the command line to interact with the asset interaction process;
Vapor:
1. Fixed network deadlocks;
2. Optimization of logic and data structure;
3. Backend supports multi-asset cross-chain query API and cross-chain query;
4. Fixed BPfast sync anomaly and vapor v1.0.1 released;
Blockcenter:
1. Test “build chain transaction” and submitted chain transaction;
2. List-transactions supports filtering voting transactions and cross-chain transactions;
3. List-addresses assets return name and symbol;
5. Added offline message push functions such as new confirmation and pending signature;
6. Developed the function of monitoring the latest transaction status in blockcenter database;
Blockmeta:
1. Vapor optimization, refined display of BP income, added mobile terminal navigation menu;
2. Vapor websocket supports heartbeat detection and reconnection mechanism;
3. Explorer sync code module supports transactions, and passed the test;
Bystack:
1. Front-end component library, Address, Chart and Label components;
2. Bystack console interface connected and designed UI;
3. Transaction module, icon will be saved when assets are issued;
4. Transaction module: modified the logic of “when searching tx-proposal, the scanning code expires”;
Byone:
1. Completed the relevant contents of voting function;
2. Added multi-asset support function: display multi-asset transaction details page and supports for sending multi-asset transaction;
3. Added the switching function of the unit;
Gostack:
1. Modified the project configuration file structure and added Makefile and Dockerfile;
2. Integrated JenkinsCI to automatically build service images;
3. Consul built configuration center, dynamically generated configuration file;
4. Test server deployed service container and connected each service to traefik gateway;
